Disability Social Care Team
The disability social care team can assess the needs of children and young people with disabilities and offer support services, including where appropriate
- A Personal Budget (which may by a direct payment or direct provision of services to meet the needs identified of a child or young person and their carers)
- Referrals to support services, such as CAPS, CLDS
The CWD (Children With Disabilties) team works with children from 0 to 16 years old. –
The YPWD (Young People With Disabilities) team work with the young person from 16-25.

Child and Young People’s Support Service (CAYPS)
Provides support to children and young people aged 0 to 25 years.
The CAYPS team work directly with children, young people and their families, to address difficulties encounted as a result of the child or young person’s additional needs. For example, issues around:
- behaviour management, boundaries, routines, communication, wishes and feelings work, difficulties accessing the community and activities, social skills, independence and life skills.

Preparing For Adulthood Service PFA
The Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) Service supports young people aged 14 to 25 with an Education, Health and Care plan, with preparing for adult life.

Families In Focus
Provide support to families of children and young people with disabilities and special needs aged 0 to 19 across Essex who require advice, information and support particularly at times of change, challenge and crisis. They can also help with filling out DLA and PIP Forms.

SEND Information, Advice & Support Service
The Essex SEND IAS Service is a confidential and impartial information, advice and support service on issues related to SEND for children and young people up to the age of 25 years, parents and carers of children and young people with SEND and practitioners. Referrals can be made by parent, carer, child or young person or anyone that has their permission.

Dream The Change
Dream The Change was established to bridge the gap between families from diverse backgrounds who have children with special educational needs and disabilities and service providers. Dream The Change organise parent seminars, training days and workshops for parents and carers. They also organise a range of support groups, social events for families, including after school clubs, day trips and activities.

Autism Anglia
Autism Anglia is an independent charity that provides care and support to autistic children, adults and their famillies in East Anglia. Services in Essex, Suffolk and Northfolk are managed from their Colchester Office. SNAP
SNAP provide to support for children and young people aged between 0-25 Years who live under Essex County Council and have any additional need or disability. From it`s Brentwood base SNAP offers a helping hand to thousands of famillies who need support in a variety of ways. Some of the services SNAP provide: Parent Advice & Support – helpline, face to face support, specialist talks and training courses, library of specialist books and dvds, online directory, counselling, education advice sessions (provided by famillies in focus).
